Helping Hand

In 1991, I founded the Quincy Helping Hand program to help defray the rising cost of durable medical equipment for our seniors, veterans, and disabled residents. This in-kind loan program provides free donations of equipment, such as walkers, wheelchairs, crutches, canes, commodes, tub benches, and others. Over the last 3 decades, Helping Hand has assisted thousands of residents across Quincy and the South Shore.

To request free equipment, please fill out this form.

For any other questions, including how you can donate equipment to our program, please call (617) 472-9877 or email me at [email protected]

Our Work

In 2019, the Bahamas were devastated by Hurricane Dorian, a Category 5 storm. Hundreds of thousands of people were impacted, and hospitals were in dire need of durable medical equipment. We partnered with Representative Ayers through his Helping Hand program, and received a large donation of equipment to assist the recovery efforts. We are very grateful forĀ Helping Hand's generosity and efforts, both locally and internationally, during times of need." - Andrew Sharpe, Authentic Caribbean
